Camera Question

To all you clever photographers- I'm thinking of upgrading my camera (Canon A580) and possibly going for a bridge camera I've seen a couple that might fit the bill (Nikon L120 or Fuji S4240) Anybody got any thoughts or alternative ideas?

From what I understand the picture quality from a bridge camera will not be as good as from a DSLR due to the much smaller sensor size. Other than that I know nothing.

I kind of picked that up But I'm using a compact at the minute and I really need something less bulky than a DSLR I'm hard to please

Kind of a halfway house between a point & shoot compact and a DSLR

A few members of the camera club use a Panasonic Lumix which produces excellent results as well as being compact enough to carry around in their pockets. They generally agree that these are about the best on the market (especially the new one that has been released).

Having said that, I really would recommend an SLR camera for better quality and versatility (especially with the range of lenses available).

It'a hybird between a compact and a DLSR Tony as in not so complicated as there are no seperate lens that can cost more than the actual SLR camera, like Penners has.

I have a bridge one a Panasonic FZ45 I had it about a year, but I believe there is a couple of newer ones out now it has 24 zoom I'm pleased with it,also I'm toying with the idea of getting an extention fitting for a zoom lens but that is the only option plus a couple of filters.

I had done some research and at the time it got persistently good reviews in the mags and online.

Well I bought the Fuji Tesco dropped the price to £128 Probably spend tomorrow playing with it and hopefully getting some reasonable pics

Joolz I would suggest that you get a filter to protect your lens.

What Dug said, and it's also a lot easier to clean a filter than a lens. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.
