After all those really hot days, it rained for two days straight and we have had really beautiful weather since then, with more of the same forecast. :D

Actually this didn't make me smile so much as go "ooooh!". Just as I clicked on the Making Money Discussion thread, someone on TV used the phrase "making money". To the second. I love coincidences, they remind me how cool the universe is

Wot? Stuffed his wall up completely huh? Oh well perhaps you can go back next weekend and help him rebuild it. ;)

mC: Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! Hope you get to see him soon.

Dots: LOVE them... live for them and tend to see a few ... gotta keep your ears and eyes open though huh.

Dug: Glad you had a good time at the book festival.

Catch: Lovely weather is always good. We are going to get 27C here this week YAYYYYYY! Though to be fair.. til August and the nights are still cold and its getting to the "Westerlies" I hate the winds. Had a convo yesterday... the usual we spoilt Queenslanders have at this time of year..... "Mild winter huh? Yeah! Scared of what summer will bring...the big one hasnt hit for awhile" (heat)

SUNDAY.... M and H and I were heading into the city (Southbank) for a day out and after I picked M up they started arguing as we were about to get on the freeway..... ("Dont MAKE me pull over!") So I pulled into a service station to have a quiet chat with the girls before we headed off... THANK THE GODS! We had a completely flat tyre! As I was contemplating putting air in or completely changing the tyre (calling the RACQ... and it would have taken them at least an hour to get there).... three lovely men tapped me on the shoulder and offered to change the tyre.   NICE guys too ;) Then they checked all the other tyres and got into their FERRARI and drove off!

Had a gorgeous afternoon/evening at Southbank and went through the markets. Hayden hyperventerlated when Morgan bought her some One DIrection badges

Blokes driving a Ferrari that actually knew how to change a tyre   That was really nice they helped our though

I had a day off, so just spent the time with the kids. Hannah (who's 7) had been watching the womens boxing at the Olympics. Out of the blue she asked if she would be able to do boxing! Had to explain that she was probably a bit young and that the fact that she can't see very far without her glasses may be a problem! She didn't seem too put out but did wander off saying she would have to invent glasses thatpeople could wear when boxing!

I'm also happy cos I got some time to play with the wood burning. Here's my patriotic, Olympics inspired effort.

Those are great, chilli! :D

What made me smile was University Challenge. There was a question there that went somethjing like: "Good Omens - the nice and accurate prophecies of Agnes Nutter witch, was written by Terry Pratchett and which other British fantasy writer?

The team (from Bristol) looked blank and eventually came up with the yentative answer of Neil Gateman.

What do they teach kids in university these days? ;)

It made me smile, but not in a totally happy way, but rather in the "Yeah, typical." way.
I actually wanted to work during my summer break from university, but didn't find anything, yet. I applied for a temporary job as IT-technician but only got some vague reply that it might be possible they need me at some time or the other. I've hung up posters at my university advertising private lessons in Latin (which actually is a huge market) and chemistry. No one mailed or rang.
Now yesterday I got a job as a freelance collaborator for a firm that offers private lessons for pupils - not sure how that will work out. Anyway, I come home and very soon the telephone rings and it's the guy from the electronics firm I applied at for that IT-technician job and offers me a job starting 13th Semptember. OK, nice. Today I get a mail from some girl who wants private Latin lessons.
Not at all bad, but it's funny how nothing happens and then it comes all at once. :D
