Docandie has been sitting around with ice packs on her left knee after banging it on a door jamb yesterday. It wasn't so bad last night but today became quite stiff and sore and swollen over the knee cap where it took the major blow.

Docandie is somewhat surprised at how many times she has to get up and down, usually not noticing at all but now, with the knee pain, the number of times seem to be increased - probably all in her mind.

She hasn't been at the computer much today because she feels better with the leg elevated.

Aston has been trying to be a "doctor dog" and snuggling next to Docandie and rarely asking to go out. It's truly amazing how dogs just seem to know something is wrong and they want to fix it.

Docandie is now going to retire to the recliner and watch a DVD of Sabrina, the one with Harrison Ford. She knows a lot of people didn't like him in this film but Docandie likes it.

Ouchie, Docandie! That sounds painful. It really is amazing how important a part of the body the knee proves to be when it plays up. Toothy's right knee gives her a stabbing pain sometimes when she's climbing the stairs and she has to sidle up at a weird angle to stop it. She's been to the doctors who thought she'd done some cartilage damage, but she has no idea how or when. Of course the knee didnt oblige with any meaningful symptoms when confronted by a doctor. He suggested Toothy take glucosamine (which are the size of horse pills! ) but she's not convinced they're doing much. Another doctor visit beckons.

Mr Totty and Toothy went to visit Elder Toothlet at uni yesterday. It was a good excuse to feed up said student, although she does eat sensibly normally - just as well, given she's studying nutrition and food science! Lunch was at Jamie Oliver's Italian and was wonderful. Toothy had king prawn linguine and a Gorgonzola, pear and walnut salad, followed by an Amalfi lemon slice with pistachios. Nomnomnom. After lots of heavy duty shopping, the others were hungry again. Toothy could've waited a few more hours! But...they all descended on Cote, a very good French-style restaurant, where more delicious food was consumed. Toothy had to go for a chicken and avocado salad and forego pud as she was just too full. She finished with fresh mint tea instead. The other two had 2 courses each, involving duck with cherry sauce, steak, creme brûlée and chocolate melt. No wonder said student wanted a parental visit. ;)

And today? Well, it's raining and windy (no, the latter doesn't refer to Toothy...amazingly enough!). The outlaws are coming over and there's some singing to be done at a Mayoral service thing. Otherwise, a relaxing day. :D

Penfold hopes Docandie's knee gets better soon and wonders whether Aston has been trained to fetch beers from the fridge yet? :D

Will also sympathises with Docandie and her knee. Will has had a couple of bad knee injuries - once walking into a wall (don't ask, but Will was sober at the time :P) and once falling off a bike. Unfortunately it was the same knee both times (at an interval of 10 years) and the knee won't let Will forget it if he tries to overdo things.

Last night the village oompah band, in which Will and Mrs Will both play, held its Gala Concert. Mrs Will got to stand and take applause for two horn solos. 8-) Will was very proud of her. Mrs Will normally shies away from limelight, but she has been learning the horn for nearly 7 years now (she is now at the equivalent of Grade VI) and it was about time she got some credit.

Well done Mrs Will! Merkat knows from when she has acted, that applause can really make someone feel good and as for Mrs Will, it shows how well she has been doing in all the practising.

Tony and Sharlene have also read the Redwall books and loved them. Tony even joined the Redwall club (he thinks it cost about £6) and got two huge packages of goodies such as badges, stickers, posters etc.

Has author seen the videos Tony posted of Brian Jacques in Texas?

Yes Author has seen those videos and is glad that Tony shared them :D

Bonnie chimes in with congratulations for Mrs. Will. :D She also commiserates with Docandie, Toofs and Will in regards to knees. Hers was acting up a bit again yesterday. Per-haps it was an unannounced International Knee Ache holiday? ;) Which brings to mind a question. Has anyone seen Per around lately? Image

The weather has been warm the last three days and today Bonnie's black iris bloomed. Yay! Yesterday she and MrE spent a couple hours sitting in the sun on the patio of a local restaurant having chips, salsa, beer and a visit with a couple friends. Now she is off to catch up on a few more threads and leaves hugs for (((all))).
Be careful what you wish for as you just might get it.

Toothy says that Per is alive and well as she's been in email correspondence with him. They and a couple of other HC boardies are due to meet up as usual later in the year. :) Per's just a very busy boardie and hasn't much free time at the mo. He'll come and say hello as and when he can, Toothy is sure. :)

Author is guessing that All that Katy Did is a compilation of the whole series
