... Just dropping in to say "hello"
My greatest hobbies are currently
- writing (for my own tiny fantasy universe - it's nothing like the Discworld, by the way

, but rather oriented at the fantasy universe of The Dark Eye fantasy world)
- playing role-playing games for the PC (some people might recognise my name from there, perhaps

)
- and reading, of course
My profession is that of a programmer, originally, but I'm currently looking for a job right now.
Some people say that "this doesn't quite fit" or that "it sounds strange" to have someone who knows how to program programs (so to say) and is writing short stories (and poems when I was younger) at the same time ... Me, I don't see any problem with that.
strange.
Anyway, I'm currently working on a longer story which is planned to be a cliché-laden, totally stereotype fantasy story about a bunch of adventurers invading a castle.
The point is/was that critics of take out their ever-destroying hammer argument of "this is not original". It destroys virtually *anything*.
So, I thought - "why not do an highly UNoriginal story ? At least the critics couldn't bash it anymore for it being "not original"."
I have failed, however, insofar as that I couldn't keep myself from integrating my own ideas into it - which reszults in it being not so much stereotypical and full of clichés as I had planned ...
I'm still at the beginning, sort of, since I'm incredibly slow at writing - that's why I usuall do short stories, 1-2 per year.
But right now it's the almost only bigger project that's *real* fun to me.
As a side-note, I'm from a town close to Cologne, Germany.
